As cases of COVID-19 have increased across the nation, we have been modifying our protocol at Cypress Creek Animal Hospital to help reduce the chance of exposure to our clients and staff.
We are still offering curbside service for medication refills and pet foods. We will extend the curbside option to all exams of pets.
We will have a staff member available to come out to your car when you arrive at the clinic. They will get medical history from you and take your pet into the clinic for examination. During the exam, your Veterinarian will call you to discuss symptoms and findings during the exam. After exam is completed, preferred payment will be done over the phone by credit card. If any client wants to be present during the examination, that will still be a welcome option.
The Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners is now allowing veterinarians to use telemedicine in limited cases where certain parameters have been met between the veterinarian, client and patient. I see this as a viable option on some rechecks and surgery follow ups. However, in many situations, being able to touch and examine your pet just cannot be replaced. I never want to provide less than exceptional care to your pet in an attempt to encourage social distancing.
